“My purpose is to create art that awakens the soul.”

Jessica Ando

Jessica Ando was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai’i. From the time she was young she had a natural tendency toward creativity and helping others. After graduating from Punahou School, she moved to Los Angeles, CA to attend Loyola Marymount University. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in psychology and studio arts with her goal set on becoming a therapist. It was a couple years before graduating that she discovered the path of Art Therapy. She continued her studies at Loyola Marymount University for another two years and received her Master’s Degree in Marital and Family Therapy and Clinical Art Therapy and is now a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Hawai’i.

As she has worked as a counselor and art therapist in Hawai’i, she also began to pursue her identity as a professional artist. She entered a world that she has fallen in love with. She now realizes an important part of who she is and her true gift is being able to create mindful and intentional art. Her uniqueness as an artist is shown through her deeply meditative process of painting. Whether she is working on a commission or creating an idea that is flowing through her, she finds a way to connect deeply with herself, with the subject she is creating, and trusting higher guidance to finish each piece with deep love, joy, and intention. She looks forward to doing creative collaborations with artists and companies that are aligned with her vision as well as doing murals in the community that can help spread positive messages.
